Sarita has worked as a professional writer for over fourteen years and joined Tasting Table as a feature writer in 2024. Building on her experience as a financial planner, she began as a freelance business and personal finance writer in 2010. In 2017, she launched her first website based on her experiences as a homesteading and homeschooling mother living off the grid in Canada's subarctic Northwest Territories. Over the years, Sarita has written about sourdough, fermenting, dehydrating, vegetable gardening, raising animals for food, and frugal meal planning. She is a regular contributor and founding member of Food Drink Life magazine. The Associated Press and MSN have syndicated her work across North America. She has previously worked as a regular contributor to Bob Vila and Yahoo! Homes. When she isn't writing, Sarita homeschools her two youngest children, reads, creates new recipes, and knits.
