Alton Brown Shares His Road Trip Eats
Hint: There are hot dogs and coffee aplenty
Alton Brown has been busy lately, traveling around the country for the tour of his live show, Eat Your Science. Of course, no road trip is complete without excellent food.

So Brown's been sharing his better meals with the hashtag #ABRoadEats (plus the city name at the end of it). Lately, he's been traveling around California, and he's downed everything from doughnuts in San Luis Obispo to a chile-topped cheeseburger in Bakersfield.

The grilled chile is what makes the burgers at Happy Jack's stand out.

The dogs at Franks Famous Hot Dogs in San Luis Obispo and the tri-tip sandwich at Firestone nearby aren't to be missed, he adds.
The food science enthusiast has discussed opening his own café, so there's also been quite a bit of coffee along the road (for "research"). The Cuban coffee at Commissary in L.A. is excellent, Brown says.
