The Obamas' Most Delicious Food Moments
Looking back at some excellent presidential meals
As President Obama's time in office winds down, there are tributes and retrospectives aplenty, including one from People that calls out the 20 or so times Barack and Michelle were the country's food lovers in chief. At the top of the list is POTUS's meal of bún chả, or pork and vermicelli, in Hanoi with Anthony Bourdain (on a recent trip to the city, one local said the dish has jokingly been renamed bún chả Obama).
Other gems that make the ranking are the time the president went to Sukiyabashi Jiro, the tiny, high-end sushi restaurant featured in Jiro Dreams of Sushi; the day he became the first person to cut the line at Austin's Franklin BBQ (and paid for the family he cut in front of); Michelle's "Turnip for what?" moment; and that time Ina Garten dropped by for a snack and a show taping with Michelle.

We would like to add a few of our favorites to the list, like the time the First Family had Mario Batali take over the White House kitchen for the administration's final state dinner with Italy's Matteo Renzi and those evenings when the First Couple dined at one of New York's restaurant industry hangouts, Estela, and at Enrique Olvera's celebrated Mexican restaurant, Cosme.
