Salt Bae Restaurant In NYC, Nusr-Et
Experience the meme in real life
It was just a year ago when the world was first introduced to the viral seasoning meme known as Salt Bae. And now, the Fabio of butchers (whose real name is Nusret Gökçe) is finally opening his long-awaited NYC restaurant—an outpost of his Turkish steakhouse, Nusr-Et, which has locations in Miami and the Middle East. Lucky Midtown residents are able to dine at the restaurant today, Eater reports.
You can expect the menu to be similar to Gökçe's Miami location, which in this case includes chargrilled racks of lamb and veal, Middle Eastern dishes like kofta stuffed with kasseri cheese, and, yes, succulent rib eyes that are vigorously sliced before being finished with his signature flourish.
But even if Gökçe isn't on hand to sprinkle his magic dust in person, he's there in spirit: A giant mural of his iconic pose hangs in the dining room.
