Shake Shack To Open Detroit Outpost In 2017
Shake Shack will descend upon Detroit next year
Detroit, get ready: The Motor City is getting its very own Shake Shack sometime next year, complete with ShackBurgers, concretes (aka killer ice cream concoctions) and maybe, just maybe, some of those Chick'n Shack sandwiches.
In classic Shack style, Danny Meyer's burger team announced plans for their location with a special city logo on their website. In this case, the iconic Spirit of Detroit statue is holding a radiating burger and an ice cream cone.

A Detroit outpost of the hit burger chain has been rumored for quite a while now, so the news is more welcome than an actual surprise. The Shack will take up residence in the First National Building, at the base of Campus Martius Park, meaning those shooting hoops or hanging out on the lawn will be able to mosey on over for much-needed fuel. The team also promises a patio at the new location, where there will be wine and local beers to drink with the burgers.
Given that it's Motor City, the only other thing we could ask for is a drive-thru.
