Tom Colicchio Is Closing Colicchio & Sons
Tom Colicchio's Chelsea spot will close after Labor Day weekend
After six years on 10th Avenue in Chelsea, Tom Colicchio is closing Colicchio & Sons for good Labor Day weekend. Colicchio made the announcement on Twitter:
6 years and 3 stars later Colicchio&Sons will serve its last dinner on September 4th. Big thanks to our loyal fans and our amazing team. 😢

The Top Chef judge didn't offer a reason why the restaurant's closing but the American restaurant never seemed to catch on in quite the same way as his Craft empire. It, however, still holds three stars from a 2010 review in the Times.

Meanwhile, the chef has his hands full with a project way downtown. Fowler & Wells and its adjoining bar will open in the brand-new hotel The Beekman after Labor Day. One small perk for Colicchio: he shouldn't have a problem hiring staff for the downtown restaurant:
All of our employees were offered positions at our new restaurant Fowler & Wells, opening September

Those who want to have one final meal at Colicchio & Sons will need to join the group of 60-plus people who have already made reservations today on OpenTable.
