Video: How To Make An Old-Fashioned Cocktail With Maple Syrup

A sweet twist on the classic whiskey cocktail

Ever wonder how to make the iconic drink that Don Draper was sipping all hours of the day?

An old-fashioned is a classic cocktail that is traditionally made with sugar, bitters, whiskey, water and a citrus peel. For a sweet twist on the cocktail, we use maple syrup instead of sugar.

To start, add half a teaspoon of maple syrup to a rocks glass. Drop in a few dashes of Angostura bitters to taste. Add ice and 2 ounces of bourbon. Stir well. Squeeze a strip of orange peel over the glass and then run it around the rim. Add the peel to the drink. Lastly, drop in a plump brandied cherry.

Now kick your feet up, take a sip and write a TV ad that will make people feel feelings.
