Celebrate Franny's At Tasting Table's Dining Room
Franny's releases a cookbook and comes to our Test Kitchen
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT
"Build it, and the rest will follow" could be Franny's motto.
Much of what is ideal about dining in New York these days can be traced to Andrew Feinberg and Francine Stephens opening their Brooklyn restaurant nine years ago.
Local-ingredient simplicity? Yes. Flavors anchored in Italy? Yup. Kale salad? You betcha.
Recently, this husband-and-wife team has done even more building: Franny's just moved to a larger space; the pair's first cookbook, Franny's: Simple Seasonal Italian ($35), will be released on June 4; and a new restaurant is in progress.
To celebrate the duo and their influence, TT readers are invited to join us in our Test Kitchen & Dining Room on Tuesday, May 21, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for an intimate 30-person meal with Andrew Feinberg and Francine Stephens ($115; purchase tickets here).
The evening will include passed snacks, cocktails, and a multicourse dinner with wine pairings, followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by Tasting Table's New York City editor, Tressa Eaton. Finally, each guest will depart with a signed advance copy of the cookbook weeks before it's available to the public.
To tide you over, we snagged a sneak-peek recipe for Rigatoni with Spicy Salami and Tomato. Bolstered with pan-crisped soppressata and chile flakes, it's the kind of elemental dish Franny's has popularized.
