Suzanne Goin Dinner | Tasting Table NYC
Join Tasting Table for an exclusive dinner with Suzanne Goin
It took Suzanne Goin eight years to write her soon-to-be-released The A.O.C. Cookbook. In the ensuing years, she "opened two more restaurants, had three children, moved homes, hired more people than I can count and learned so very much."
The wait was worth it.
The new book
Find out why: On Thursday, November 21, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tasting Table readers are invited to join us for an exclusive four-course meal of dishes from the book, prepared by Goin (see the full menu here) with wine pairings by sommelier Caroline Styne ($200 plus tax; purchase tickets here). All guests will depart with a signed copy of the cookbook.
Goin devoted a year to getting the recipes in the book just right for the home cook. The result is a beautiful but useful cookbook destined for your kitchen counter, not just your coffee table.
And that's the way Goin wants it. She says the best compliment is when people "bring copies of Sunday Suppers at Lucques into the restaurant, and they are beat up, have oil on them, scribbles, and pages that have been turned and used."
One thing that hasn't changed over the last eight years: The iconic A.O.C. dish of bacon-wrapped dates with Parmesan. Goin calls the warm, brown-sugary dates wrapped in crispy bacon "meat candy."
Bacon and dates. What's not to love?
Buy tickets to the dinner now to have them personally prepared by Goin, or use the recipe that we snagged from the book to recreate them at home.
